A Word from Wenz

One of the best things about playing at home is definitely the people. And not just the stadium full of parochial fans which cheer us on at each game. It’s also those in the community when we are out and about who stop for a chat about all things netball - we feel the vibe and the support everywhere we go and it’s fantastic.

This is our last round robin home game and, believe it or not, it’s as far ahead as we are looking at the moment. Our focus this season has been to take things one week at a time and not concentrate too much on the big picture - a “here and now” formula which has reaped rewards.

The intensity at training gets tougher every time and we are certainly challenging each other and really pushing our limits.

The Melbourne Vixens are a team on the rise so we will need to be prepared to put out our A game for a full 60 minutes. They have produced some solid results in the last few weeks, including a crucial 5-goal win over the Fever in their last outing to earn a smidgen of breathing space in third place on the congested Australian Conference ladder.

This is going to be an encounter of epic proportions so make sure you’re courtside to watch the action live! We need you at our house - ILT Stadium Southland.

Good luck to the men in black as they take on Wales in Dunedin. #gotheABs

Cheers,
Wendy Frew
