Abracadabra – the Magic's winning streak has done a disappearing act.

 The Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel dominated the highly-fancied Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic 52-47 at Stadium Southland last night.
Determined to keep their playoffs hopes alive, the Steel delivered their most comprehensive performance this season to bring the Magic's seven-game spree to an abrupt end.
Spurred on by a 3000-strong crowd of ardent fans, the southerners were unrelenting from the opening whistle and united in their quest for victory, teamwork proving the crucial factor in repelling several Magic charges.

PLAYER PROFILE : Liana Barrett-Chase
