Team Talk
You could say we were all about the vibes this past week.
We kicked off proceedings with most of the team going to the Six60 concert in Dunedin last Saturday night. It was awesome to get a break from netball after an intense start of our campaign and a good boogie to great tunes did the trick.
The good vibes continued on Monday night at our first home game of the season. Magic were the only team we hadn’t played in pre-season so, even though we had done our research and watched their previous games, they were pretty new to us.
We were pumped heading into that match and I think that showed on the scoreboard. You have to be happy with a 20-goal win and generally we were, but it also revealed a lot to work on for us as well. As a team, we have to keep striving for improvement.
We were also stoked for Lenny with that win - the first game against your old team-mates is always a challenge but she delivered another impressive performance under the post and looks right at home in Steel colours.
Our focus is now on the re-match against the Tactix at ILT Stadium this Sunday. A good old-fashioned South Island derby awaits. We’re also looking forward to chatting to our VIP members at the after-match function.
Cheers, Te Huinga
