Leana de Bruin signs with the Steel
Leana de Bruin will inject extensive international experience into the Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel’s defensive ranks next season.
The Steel today announced the former Silver Fern as the latest addition to its playing roster for the 2010 ANZ Championship.
de Bruin, unavailable for the Silver Ferns this year due to pregnancy, has amassed 33 test caps representing New Zealand on the international stage, including the World Netball Championships and the Commonwealth Games. She also racked up numerous test caps for her native South Africa before shifting to New Zealand in 2000.
The Steel, which secured a spot in the ANZ Championship playoffs this year, has retained the core of its team for next season, with players the calibre of de Bruin complementing an already impressive line-up.
