Steel the Spotlight - April 28, 2010

Singers, dancers, musicians, jugglers, you have the chance to Steel the Spotlight from the Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel – if the players themselves judge you the best act.

The team will host open auditions for anyone eager to be the halftime entertainment at their game against the LG Northern Mystics at Stadium Southland on May 10.

“We're really looking forward to seeing all the local talent out there,” vice-captain Wendy Frew said.

“Hopefully judging will be a tough challenge with lots of acts to choose from – after all, it's an international stage with live television coverage so that opportunity should definitely  appeal.”

Auditions will be staged at Stadium Southland on Tuesday, May 4 from 3-5pm with the Steel team forming the judging panel.

“I'm not sure who will be the Simon Cowell of the group,” Frew quipped.
